Job Overview
Join a dynamic healthcare environment offering specialized care for a diverse range of patients, including those with DKA, Sickle Cell, Sepsis, Pneumonia, general weakness, and stroke-like symptoms. This position is ideal for experienced nurses looking to enhance their skills while working in a supportive unit.
Position Details
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Shift Length: 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15)
- Hours Per Week: 36 or 48 hours available
- RTO: Maximum 7 days allowed for auto offer; all missed shifts should ideally be made up within the same week or added to the end of the contract.
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a related role.
- Traveler Experience: First-time travelers are welcome.
- Skills:
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Peripheral line care and management
- Use of nasal cannula and portable oxygen tank
- Non-invasive airway management
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
Unit Details
- Special Procedures: The CNA patient ratio is 1:9/10.
- Unit Systems: PYXSIS and EPIC.
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling balanced and approved by staff.
- Orientation: 36 hours of unit orientation provided.
- Scrubs: Must be all navy; not provided by the unit.
Additional Information
Successful candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty unit. Float requirements are not applicable.
