Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our MS/Tele unit specializing in Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE). The ideal candidate will have experience in telemetry-capable care for hospitalized patients aged 65 and older.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients within the ACE unit.
• Monitor and manage telemetry readings and respond to changes in patients’ conditions.
• Administer medications and manage IV starts, blood products, and central/peripheral/PICC lines.
• Conduct dysrhythmia interpretation and manage heparin protocols as needed.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the multidisciplinary team.

Scheduling Details

• Shifts: Night shifts available (3x12-hour format).
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
• Holidays: Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays.
• Requests for time off must be included with submission and approved at booking.
• Facility policy allows for one shift call off every two weeks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, particularly in MS/Tele.
• Active SC or multistate nursing license required; pending licenses will not be accepted.
• EPIC charting experience preferred (minimum of 1 year).
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.

Clinical Skills

• Proficient in geriatric-focused care practices.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and management.
• Ability to effectively float to other units as necessary, based on competency.

Unit and Patient Population Information

The ACE unit consists of 26 beds and focuses on preserving cognitive and physical function for older adults, helping them return to their pre-admission baseline.
