Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Description: This 37-bed unit provides care to a diverse adult patient population. Each bed is equipped for monitoring, accommodating patients with varying degrees of illness, from uncomplicated cases to sub-critical conditions, including post-operative transplant patients and any adult requiring cardiac monitoring.

Shift Details

Shifts: Days (7A-7P), weekdays, every other weekend required
Contract options: 36 or 48 hours per week
Overtime: After 48 hours for 4x12 shifts

Orientation Schedule

Orientation is held bi-weekly on Thursdays and Fridays. RNs will participate in a computer lab session all day Thursday, followed by Friday morning activities, including badge creation and unit introductions.

Patient Ratios

Staffing ratios of 1:5 for patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of RN experience
At least 1 year of experience in specialty
New travelers are accepted, including first-time travelers
Certifications required: BLS and ACLS

Floating Requirements

Clinicians may be required to float within their scope to meet the facility's needs.

Blocked Schedule Requests

The manager is open to accommodating block schedule requests if they align with unit needs.

Licensing

WV/Compact RN License required; applications with a pending license will be accepted.
