Job Summary
Registered Nurse Medical-Surgical With Telemetry. This float position supports adult and geriatric patients across emergency department boarding, telemetry, and medical-surgical settings. The role includes floating to meet operational needs, managing variable nurse-to-patient ratios, and performing charge responsibilities when assigned.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Two years of experience.
- Previous charge nurse experience required.
- Compact license in hand at submission.
- Experience in the United States required.
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, isolation precautions and personal protective equipment, and nasal cannula oxygen.
- Required charting system experience.
- Required certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Preferred Qualifications: Medical-surgical or telemetry float experience and cardiac step-down experience.
- Additional Information: Patient assignments may include emergency department boarding, telemetry, and medical-surgical patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios may range from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on acuity. The position may include charge responsibilities on smaller units, including staffing coordination, bed flow management, and general operational coordination. Interdisciplinary support includes intravenous therapy teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Holiday coverage may be required, and all requested time off or scheduling preferences must be submitted in advance.
