Trauma Level: Critical Access Hospital (CAH)
Shift: 12-hour day shifts
Schedule: Days + every other weekend + every other holiday
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
- Previous nursing home experience preferred.
- Previous travel experience is not required.
- Active RN license required at submission.
- BLS required.
- BSN not required.
- Must have medication administration and supervisory experience.
- Self-motivated candidate preferred.
Patient Population / Facility Details:
- 38 residents.
- Private rooms.
- Common diagnoses include COPD, dementia, Parkinson's disease, MS, and CHF.
- Facility is attached to a hospital with ER, lab, imaging, pharmacy, therapy, and walk-in clinic services.
Main Responsibilities:
- Medication administration / medication pass.
- Wound care.
- Foley catheter care.
- Ostomy care.
- Supervise CNAs and TMAs.
- Support daily nursing operations.
Important: This is a non-clinical-involvement role as described in the posting, but medication administration and routine nursing care are required.
Staffing / Ratios:
- Day/evening: 1 nurse with 2–3 CNAs for 20 residents.
- Night shift: 1 nurse with 2–3 CNAs for 40 residents.
EMR / Equipment:
- EMR: PointClickCare (PCC).
- Medication dispensing: Blister-pack cards.
- No IVs or titratable drips.
- Nurses are not required to read cardiac strips.
- On-site pharmacy.
- Physician available after hours.
Schedule / Other Details:
- Every other weekend required.
- Every other holiday required.
- No call or standby.
- No floating.
- Block scheduling may be available based on facility needs.
- Scrubs provided.
- Orientation shifts provided as needed.
Travel / Submission Restrictions:
- 50-mile radius rule.
