Job Summary (List Format):
It is a 4*12 Shift
- Location/Eligibility:
- Local candidates at the same rate.
- Perm candidates from other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) eligible for travel contract if separated for at least 3 months.
- All Swedish facilities honor active compact nursing licenses.
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
- Must have high-risk labor & delivery experience.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-acuity environments required.
- 1st-time travelers accepted.
- Scheduling:
- Schedule posted every 6 weeks, based on unit needs.
- Must work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
- Pre-approved time off considered case by case.
- Unit Details:
- High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit.
- 31 beds/rooms, average daily census of 15, 500-600 deliveries per month.
- 4 operating rooms (ORs) on unit.
- Patient Population:
- Midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services supporting substance recovery, community care clinics.
- Float Requirements:
- Must float to Postpartum/Antepartum or to sister facilities with Mother/Baby units as needed.
- Clinical Duties:
- Circulate in L&D (REQUIRED).
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, continuing newborn care until transfer to postpartum.
- Provide newborn care: eyes, thighs (Vitamin K injections), assessments.
- Administer medications: Heparin, Insulin, Magnesium Sulfate.
- Electronic fetal monitoring experience valued.
- Technical/EMR:
- Must use EPIC EMR (hard stop requirement).
- Certifications:
- Required: BLS, NRP.
- Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate.
- Best Practice/Standards:
- Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines.
