Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York.

RN – Labor & Delivery | Rochester General Hospital, NY
- Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM), alternating as assigned.
- Certifications Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Obstetric ACLS (OB-ACLS)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Key Clinical Responsibilities:
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate during C-sections
- Recover patients post-cesarean section
- Administer and monitor Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and Terbutaline therapies
- Assess APGAR scores and provide immediate newborn care (identification, security banding, thermoregulation)
- Perform Foley catheter insertion and management
- Conduct fundus, lochia, and perineal assessments and provide related care
- Recognize and manage postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
- Perform non-stress tests (NSTs) and operate external fetal monitoring equipment
- Assist with intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC) placement and calibration
- Unit and Patient Care Details:
- Care for pregnant patients at any gestational age accepted by the provider team
- Triage and evaluate pregnant patients (all gestational ages) and postpartum patients up to six weeks after delivery
- Equipment Utilized:
- GE fetal and telemetry monitors, Monica wireless fetal monitoring, Neopuff, and Draeger newborn warmers
- Other Requirements:
- Floating within the nurse’s skill set may be required
- Hospital-provided scrubs
This role involves comprehensive care for laboring and postpartum patients, requiring specialized certifications, strong clinical skills, and adaptability within the unit.
