Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Medical (ICU MEDICAL) nurse position available in a high-acuity, fast-paced medical intensive care unit. The role involves caring for critically ill adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs including respiratory failure, multisystem organ failure, cardiac events, and infectious diseases. The chosen candidate will provide advanced patient monitoring and assist with various invasive procedures, supporting the interdisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Minimum of 48 hours per week, starting on 10/05/2026 and ending on 01/04/2027.
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license must be in hand at submission), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), 2 years of total experience, 2-3 patient ratio experience, experience with charting system Epic, at least 1 year of relevant clinical experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
- Float: Float rotation may be required; travelers should be prepared to float to tele units if census requires.
- Additional Information: The unit supports patients with diverse and complex diagnoses, requiring proficiency in arterial line management, ventilator management, chest tube procedures, and stroke management. The standard early-stage staffing ratio is 2:1, which may temporarily increase to 4:1. The unit utilizes advanced equipment such as Zoll intra-vascular cooling catheters, Phillips monitors, Drager ventilators, and Zoll defibrillators.
