Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description:
An Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse provides 24/7 care for critically ill and unstable patients. This role includes a range of responsibilities and requires a high level of expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage life-support equipment, including ventilators.
- Titrate complex intravenous drips and interpret vital signs.
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments.
- Administer medications as per protocols.
- Coordinate advanced care with a multidisciplinary medical team.
Attendance Policy:
Please note that the organization has implemented a strict attendance policy effective June 1, 2024. Any RN contractor who is absent from a scheduled shift or is more than 20 minutes late for a scheduled shift three times will be terminated immediately. Exceptions may apply with supporting evidence for communicable diseases or hospitalization.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience (floating not considered) - Required
- EKG experience - Required
- Willingness to float to similar units - Required
- Experience in Neuro, CVICU, Trauma - Preferred
- Experience managing ventilators - Preferred
- Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Balloon Pumps - Preferred
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
Licensure:
An active Michigan nursing license is required at the time of submission. Verification through LARA and Nursys must be provided. If there are any license-related issues, a detailed explanation will be beneficial for review.
