Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering compassionate and quality care with a focus on the needs of both patients and their families. The RN assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents patient care following established hospital policies and professional nursing practices. This position emphasizes accountability for the quality of nursing services provided and involves defining, implementing, and enhancing practice standards in a supportive care environment. The RN is expected to actively promote exceptional patient care and support operational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop care plans based on individual needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Effectively communicate with patients and families about treatment plans and care processes.
- Document all aspects of patient care in compliance with hospital policies and standards.
- Float between Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Med/Surg as needed to meet patient requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Critical Care and ICU.
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC).
- Trained in Med/Surg and Telemetry.
- Proficient in inserting IVs.
- Experience with the adult patient population.
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems, specifically Epic.
Additional Information
This position requires a commitment to working every weekend on a regular basis. A temporary nursing license in Minnesota is acceptable if a permanent license application has been submitted, provided the temporary license is held at the time of application.
