ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent ICU nursing or adult critical care experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care in a fast-paced intensive care environment
• Prior travel nursing experience is preferred but not required

ICU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU and step-down setting
• Monitor patients requiring mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and complex cardiovascular or respiratory support
• Care for postoperative patients, including those recovering from cardiac and vascular thoracic procedures
• Assess patient conditions, recognize changes promptly, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments, manage invasive lines and monitoring equipment, and document patient care accurately in Cerner
• Support emergency interventions and maintain a safe, organized critical care environment
• Participate in unit orientation and float within demonstrated competencies when operationally needed
