Orientation: 4 hour hospital orientation followed by an 8 hour shift on the floor

• • RNs- all navy, all white or a combination of navy and white
• • CNAs - all galaxy blue (looks like royal blue)- not Navy
• • Sitters- those without a CNA certificate -all purple
• • RTs- medium gray/Pewter
• • LPN - Sage Green
KRONOS INSTRUCTIONS:
• • Dial 533 from a phone that has been setup in Kronos. (this information will come from a manager or co-worker on the unit)
• • The first time you connect, you will be asked to record the name. Please follow the prompts.
• • Clock in with a 1 and clock out with a 9 unless you are clocking for charge, other productive time or a return callback.
• • Clock in with a 62 if this is your 2nd, 3rd, etc. return for a call-back shift.
• • Clock in with a 64 for other productive time (orientation, meeting, education, etc.)
• • Clock in with a 66 if this is an in-charge shift
• • For Lunches, clock out with a 3 and back in with a 4.

Unit Specifics:
• Number of Beds : 101
• Patient Ratios : 4:1 typically- medical, up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
• Unit staffing description- Techs available- work in cardiac monitoring unit and the internal processing area, triage, Unit clerks days and nights
• Type of equipment : baxter pumps, GE monitors
• Documentation system: Cerner
• Scheduling requirements: Every other weekend, cant commit to block scheduling, scheduling must meet the needs of the dept.
• Floating policy: No floating outside of the ED but must be open to floating to all sections in the ED.
• Patient Experience requirements: AIDET, Respectful behavior, Pt Experience to each patient, Boards updated with info and pt updated throughout visit

Hiring profile
Requested Skill Set: 2 years experience in Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, high volume > 100,000 visit ED. Previous HCA experience preferred.
Must have: 2 years experience as a nurse with at least 1-year experience in ER setting, teamwork mentality, ability to coach and give feedback in real time. Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED.
