Registered Nurse – Adult Emergency Room (RN ER Adult)
Facility: Strong Memorial Hospital (SMH) – URMC
Location: 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14642
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Rotating Days/Evenings/Nights (D/E/N), 3 × 12-hour shifts
Hours: 36 hours per week; 48-hour options may be available
Position Overview
Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Adult Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a fast-paced Emergency Department. The facility is a Level I Trauma Center with over 100,000 annual ED visits. The RN will provide care to adult ED patients and assist with boarder patients as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience
- Previous travel ER experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
- Active New York State RN license required; other licenses are not accepted
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association only)
- NIHSS certification
- Required telemetry experience
Schedule & Work Requirements
- Rotating day, evening, and night shifts (D/E/N)
- Floating as required by unit needs
- Weekend and holiday availability required
- On-call/callback responsibilities as needed
- Charge duties may be assigned based on unit needs
- Must be comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced Adult ED and caring for boarder patients
