Hiring Now: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Rochester, NY
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts
 

Position Overview

Seeking experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses (RN – ER) for a 13-week travel assignment. This 528-bed teaching hospital features a dedicated pediatric ED, trauma suite, and specialized emergency services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Perform triage, patient assessments, and emergency interventions.
• Administer IV medications, blood products, and vasopressors.
• Manage central lines, IV access, and respiratory support, including CPAP/BiPAP and ventilators.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias.
• Care for patients with stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries.
• Respond to trauma cases, including gunshot wounds and orthopedic injuries.
• Follow infection prevention and isolation precautions.
• Float within the nurse's skill set as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience.
• Active New York State RN license required at submission; pending licenses are not accepted.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Strong triage, emergency care, IV therapy, and cardiac monitoring skills.
• First-time travelers may be considered.

Schedule & Contract Details

• Night shifts: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed.
• Patient ratio: approximately 1:5.
• Floating within the nurse's skill set is required.
• Up to 1 time-off request; total RTO cannot exceed 10 days.
• Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted.
• The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
• Scrub colors: navy blue and white.
