Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for providing care to a designated group of patients for a specific time frame. Care is delivered through the therapeutic application of the nursing process in collaboration with other healthcare team members.
The RN demonstrates the necessary knowledge and skills to care for patients of varying ages, applying principles of growth and development throughout the life span. Patient data is assessed and interpreted to identify each patient's specific requirements based on their age-related needs.
The RN functions in the primary role in Triage, Main ED, and Fast Track. They may also be assigned to other areas within the hospital as a resource, as directed by hospital leadership or the House Supervisor. When assigned to a different department, the RN is expected to follow the guidance of the Charge Nurse and maintain the same high standards of care and safety.
Education & Training Requirements:
- Current New Mexico or multi-state Registered Nurse license
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- TNCC
Work Experience Requirements:
- Emergency and/or critical care experience preferred
- One year of Medical Surgical experience preferred
