Job Overview
This position is for a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The role involves providing exceptional nursing care to critically ill patients within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Shift Details
The role is predominantly scheduled for night shifts, working from 1900 to 0730, with a rotation every other weekend and some holiday coverage expected. There may be flexibility with scheduling options to include four 12-hour shifts or blocked weekends, depending on traveler preference.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiovascular patients in ICU settings.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, ensuring timely interventions as needed.
- Utilize the NextStage CVVH machine proficiently for patients requiring continuous renal replacement therapy.
- Collaborate with the medical team in providing comprehensive care to patients post-cardiothoracic surgery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Active RN license is required.
- Experience in a CVICU or similar acute care setting is mandatory.
- Knowledge and experience with the NextStage CVVH machine is essential.
- Experience in a cardiothoracic surgery unit or an acuity adaptable area preferred.
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
Additional Requirements
All candidates must successfully pass a telemetry test prior to starting the position to ensure competency in monitoring cardiac patients.
