Registered Nurse (RN) - OB Case Manager

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) - OB Case Manager provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting. This role supports individuals and families across the continuum of care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Implement and evaluate nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to provider orders and policy.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions or escalation of care.
• Provide patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs.
• Deliver culturally responsive, patient-centered care while ensuring adherence to infection control and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement activities.
• Advocate for patient care and assist patients in navigating the healthcare system.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, maintaining required competencies and certifications.

Qualifications

• Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or another U.S. state.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of OB Case Management experience preferred.
• Case Management certification is preferred.

Additional Information

This position requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment, including adequate supplies and the upkeep of unit and equipment. RNs in this role are expected to employ critical thinking and professional judgment to ensure quality outcomes and patient safety.

Holiday coverage may be required. Flexibility in work assignments may be necessary, including floating to other departments as needed.
