Med/Tele/PCU Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our Med/Tele/PCU unit. This role involves providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population, including adults and geriatrics, with a focus on cardiovascular conditions and acute medical issues.
Job Details
- Unit Type: Stepdown
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
- Patient Ratio: RN to patient ratio is 1:4-5, occasionally 5-6 on nights
- # of Beds: 32
- Common Patient Diagnoses: Cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, pacemakers, alcohol-related issues, COVID-19, respiratory conditions, pneumonia, sepsis, and other acute medical conditions
Responsibilities
- Providing comprehensive care in a telemetry environment
- Reading and interpreting cardiac strips
- Titrating drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroglycerin, and others
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Floating to different areas as necessary to provide support and maintain patient care
- Utilizing BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and troubleshooting respiratory equipment
Qualifications
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Med/Tele or PCU setting
- Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS
- Preferred Skills: Epic experience, ability to read cardiac strips, PCU experience

- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday
- Orientation: Two 12-hour shifts during the first week
- Dress Code: Any color scrubs
