Contract | 13 Weeks | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 46-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Perform and interpret telemetry monitoring and EKG readings; manage patients post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
• Operate and document within Meditech Expanse electronic health records system
• Utilize unit equipment including GE Apex Pro Telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, Alaris PCA IV pump, Hoyer lift, and Welch Allyn Vitals machines
• May float to post-surgical Med/Surg or PCU to support telemetry overflow as needed
• Maintain current BLS certification; ACLS preferred; NIH Stroke Scale certification required annually

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (compact license accepted where applicable)
• BLS certification required
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification required (must be renewed annually)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) experience required
• CPap management and port access skills required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vac, and surgical drains
• Post-dialysis assessment skills and central line management experience
• Blood transfusion administration experience
