Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in a clinical setting. The position involves floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles, providing comprehensive obstetric, labor, postpartum, and newborn care. Responsibilities include patient assessment, fetal evaluation, labor evaluation, administration of medications, and stabilization of mothers and newborns. The role requires flexibility to work nights on a schedule of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum commitment of 36 hours per week.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), valid Nursing license for the state of New Mexico or a Compact State, NRP certification, AWHONN Intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certification, S.T.A.B.L.E. certification, BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross, passing the BCA test during the first week of assignment with dismissal if failed.
  • Preferred Qualifications: EPIC experience (training available on-site).
  • Additional Information: The nurse must assess triage patients at 20 weeks, evaluate fetal and labor status, manage medication administration including Pitocin, mag sulfate, and others, provide newborn stabilization, and assist with cesarean deliveries. Floating between departments and/or local facilities within 20 miles may be required.
