Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in a healthcare setting, responsible for performing independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, monitoring health status, providing health education and counseling, and supporting patients through therapy and treatment. The nurse may be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications and be placed on-call during scheduled shift.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift with 12-hour night shifts. Seven weekend shifts within an eight-week period, including Fridays and Saturdays. On-call: three 12-hour shifts within an eight-week period. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in the practicing state or a compact license, minimum of 1 year of related experience, Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred, current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, ACLS certification from the American Heart Association, NRP certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in Labor and Delivery Department, certification relevant to the unit or service preferred.
- Additional Information: Performs health data assessments, health teaching, counseling, medical function execution, patient referrals, treatment plan monitoring, documentation, and resource utilization. Candidate must be comfortable circulating C-section procedures, as circulating our own C-sections is required.
