Labor and Delivery Nurse
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to provide high-quality care to expectant mothers and their newborns. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in labor and delivery nursing, with experience in various conditions and procedures related to maternal and neonatal health.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage patient health during labor and delivery.
- Perform labor inductions, manage epidurals, and provide assistance in C-sections.
- Circulate in the operating room during deliveries and related procedures.
- Administer medications and manage multiple intravenous drips (Pitocin, magnesium, insulin).
- Provide care for patients with preeclampsia, postpartum hemorrhages, and other complications.
- Offer resuscitation support for premature infants and manage labor in a single suite.
- Document patient information and progress using EPIC and SBAR systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and safety.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
- Experience with at least 400 births per month, labor inductions, IUFDs, and multiple gestations.
- Certifications required: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP.
- Familiarity with special equipment including epidural pumps, PCAs, and fluid warmers.
- Ability to float within Women's Services as needed.
Schedule and Orientation
- Shifts: 12-hour nights; every other weekend is required.
- Maximum RTO: 7 days for Aya Auto Offer.
- Unit orientation includes EPIC training and practical experience in the unit and OR.
- Travelers will be accepted on a 13-week contract basis.
Additional Information
Scrubs will be provided. Please note that only natural hair colors are permitted as per the dress code.
