LDRP Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced LDRP Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team. This position requires a strong clinical background in Labor and Delivery nursing, with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
- Number of L&D Beds: 15 total (7 L&D, 8 Postpartum)
- Operating Room Suites for C-Sections: 1
- Average Births: 58 per month
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 for pitocin, magnesium, or insulin drips; 1:3 couplet care
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients and neonates.
- Read and interpret fetal heart monitoring strips accurately.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and adhere to quality metrics.
- Administer titratable drips including pitocin, insulin, and magnesium.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Float to Medsurg and ER as necessary within the skill set.
Qualifications
- Required Certifications: BLS Certification, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
- Preferred Certifications: ACLS, NRP, STABLE
- Essential Skills: Ability to read and interpret fetal strips, critical thinking skills, and adaptability.
- Experience: Previous travel experience is preferred.
Work Environment
This nursing position includes scheduled day shifts, with call responsibilities depending on staffing needs. RNs are expected to work every third weekend and every other holiday. Scrubs will be provided in maroon color. Staff will undergo three shifts of unit-specific orientation to ensure familiarity with protocols and procedures.
Additional Information
- Nurse Aids/Surgical Techs: Yes, available to assist with vital signs and patient care.
- OB/Neonatologist & Anesthesia Availability: Not in-house 24/7.
- Access to RT Equipment: Available for troubleshooting, RNs are not required to operate the equipment.
- EMR System: Meditech
