Job Summary
Intermediate Care Unit This position provides care for adult medical cardiology and cardiac and thoracic surgery patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and treatment. The role supports patients receiving telemetry monitoring, temporary cardiac pacing, vasoactive and anticoagulant medication infusions, and postoperative care. The assignment is scheduled for night shifts from 12/28/2026 through 03/08/2027.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Two years of experience.
- Experience in a large Level I or Level II trauma setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Iowa or compact nursing license.
- Epic electronic medical record experience.
- Additional Information:
- Provides care for adult medical cardiology, cardiac surgery, and thoracic surgery patients.
- Clinical responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, temporary cardiac pacing, vasoactive and anticoagulant medication infusions, and arrhythmia management.
- Patient populations may include postoperative esophagectomy, Nissen fundoplication, thoracotomy, heart transplantation, coronary artery bypass grafting, valve replacement, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement cases.
- Additional patient care includes cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension, chest pain, post-procedure cardiac intervention, and left ventricular assist device management.
- Holiday coverage is expected.
