Job description
MetaSense, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Utica, New York.

Submission Requirements
- Local candidates accepted. Local rate applies to candidates residing less than 75 miles from the facility.
- Updated resume documenting a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and travel nursing experience.
- 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following specialties: ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU.
- 4–5 years of ICU experience preferred; 2 years minimum required.
- Previous travel nursing experience is required.
- Skills checklist matching the specialty.
- Driver’s license with an address matching the candidate’s demographics.
- Current AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- NURSYS license verification report showing an active New York RN license and all active RN licenses.
- Requested time off (RTO) must be included at the time of submission.
- EPIC EMR experience required.
Position Requirements
- Must have experience with CRRT and Prismaflex.
- Cardiac experience is highly preferred. Candidates with cardiac experience are a priority for manager review.
- Floating is required to all units except Behavioral Health and the Emergency Department, unless the ED is holding patients.

- Neuro/Medical ICU: 22 beds
- Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU): 6 beds
- Surgical/Trauma ICU: 14 beds

Neuro/Medical ICU
- Strokes
- Sepsis
- Altered mental status (AMS)
- Neuro intervention procedures, including TCAR
- Respiratory failure
- Congestive heart failure (CHF)
- Post-STEMI patients
Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU)
- Cardiovascular surgery
- Cardiogenic shock
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) surgery
Surgical/Trauma ICU
- Trauma patients
- Major postoperative surgical patients
Specialty Equipment
- Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
- Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), including Prismaflex or NxStage
- Ventriculostomy
- Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
- Targeted temperature management (TTM), including Arctic Sun
