Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in the ICU department. We are seeking dedicated and experienced Registered Nurses to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive team atmosphere while delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate interventions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient care accurately and timely using Meditech Expanse.
- Participate in patient and family education regarding care plans and procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital ICU setting.
- Active Kentucky/Compact nursing license at the time of submission.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Experience with CPAP and BiPAP management, port access, and therapeutic phlebotomy.
- Advanced skills preferred: chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, blood transfusions, and ventilators.
Unit Specifics:
- 10-bed ICU with patient ratios of 2:1 or 3:1.
- Support staff includes Clinical Nurse Coordinators, RNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs.
- Utilizes Philips Telemetry, Baxter pumps, iMobile, vents, and glucometers.
- May float to PCU, 3rd floor, or ED as needed.
