Job Summary
ThedaCare ICU (Intensive Care Unit) in Waupaca, WI, is seeking an experienced Stepdown ICU Registered Nurse for a 10-week night shift assignment. This role involves providing patient care in a rural hospital setting with higher acuity than typical med/surg units, including managing patients on drips and utilizing ICU skills.
Job Details
- Certifications: WI RN License, American Heart Association Basic Life Support, and NIH Stroke Scale certification.
- Education: Associate Degree or Certificate required; BSN strongly preferred.
- Location Requirements: Must be comfortable working within a 60-mile radius of ThedaCare facilities.
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of ICU experience, with strong preference for stepdown, critical access, and ICU/Intermediate Medical Unit backgrounds.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.
- Shift Start Time: 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Additional Information: The role requires resilience, adaptability, and comfort with some patients on drips. The unit is a 20-bed facility with an average daily census of 12-18 patients, and patient ratios can reach as high as 1:7 on busy days. A minimum of 1-2 years of ICU experience is required.
