ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team in providing high-quality care for patients in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and possess a flexible mindset to adapt to the dynamic nature of the unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intensive nursing care to patients in the ICU, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1.
- Administer medications and titrate IV drips, including common ICU medications such as Levo, Vaso, Epi, Dilt, Amio, Dopa, and Dobut.
- Collaborate with clinical team members to assess, plan, and implement patient care.
- Monitor and interpret patient conditions using Phillips telemetry monitors.
- Participate in code blue and rapid response teams.
- Assist with complex procedures and manage critically ill patients.
- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience.
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
- Ability to read telemetry strips; familiarity with Phillips monitors is preferred.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to meet the demands of the unit's scheduling needs, including weekend and holiday shifts as required.
Unit Information
- Unit Type: ICU/PCU
- Number of Beds: 16
- Patient ratious: 2:1 for ICU, 3:1 for PCU.
- Respiratory Therapy available 24/7 within the unit.
- Hospitalist available in-house 24/7, with intensivist coverage from 7 AM to 7 PM.
Additional Information
Orientation includes EPIC training, which may take 12 hours, including one shift at a nearby facility. Candidates should be adaptable to learning new technology and systems proficiently.
