Travel ICU Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in New York
• At least 2 years of recent ICU or cardiovascular critical care nursing experience
• Required experience caring for fresh post-operative cardiac surgery patients
• Cardiovascular critical care experience or certification
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Recent experience using the EPIC electronic health record (EHR)
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and critical-thinking skills

Cardiovascular ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular and cardiothoracic patients
• Care for patients recovering from cardiovascular surgery, including fresh post-operative heart patients
• Manage patients with complex diagnoses such as cardiogenic shock, abdominal aortic aneurysm, and other cardiovascular conditions
• Continuously assess patient status, recognize changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring therapeutic responses
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EPIC
• Promote safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care throughout each night shift
