Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Cardiovascular night shift position is available at a healthcare organizations cardiovascular intensive care unit in the specified location. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients, including cardiac surgical and medical cardiac patients, with a focus on post-operative and acute cardiovascular management. The position offers an opportunity to work with a highly skilled interdisciplinary team in a dynamic environment, providing specialized patient care during the overnight hours.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Compact or OK licensed registered nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience related to cardiovascular or critical care; certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with arterial line management, chest tube procedures, BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, central line management, renal failure management, CVA/acute stroke management, CVVHD/CRRT, Impella, interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of multisystem organ failure, PICC line management, procedural sedation, sheath removal, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and working within a Surgical Intensive Care Unit environment
- Float: Float rotation may be required to Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Neuro ICU, or Burn ICU if needed
- Additional Information: The unit supports interdisciplinary teams such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The daily census is approximately 20 patients within a 24-bed unit. A brief orientation will be provided to familiarize travelers with specific protocols and procedures. All assignments must be submitted with valid licensing documentation and RTO preferences listed at the time of submittal.
