Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Nights. This position provides care for adult and geriatric cardiac surgical and cardiac medical patients, including occasional medical intensive care overflow. The role requires advanced critical-care experience, specialized certifications, and the ability to manage complex cardiovascular and multisystem conditions.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; experience with arterial line management, chest tube procedures, bilevel positive airway pressure/continuous positive airway pressure management, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, central line management, chronic and acute renal failure, continuous intravenous sedation, cerebrovascular accident and acute stroke management, continuous venovenous hemodialysis/continuous renal replacement therapy, Impella support, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, intravenous insulin protocols, multisystem organ dysfunction or failure, peripherally inserted central catheter management, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, sheath removal, intravenous access, surgical intensive care, cardiac drip titration, and vasoactive drip titration.
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; every other weekend required.
- Additional Information: Patient assignments include a ratio of 1:2. Scrub color is navy. The unit cares for cardiac surgical and cardiac medical patients, with occasional adult medical intensive care overflow. Interdisciplinary support includes intravenous therapy teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
