Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our team in a fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit. This position requires strong experience in cardiac telemetry, progressive care unit (PCU), intermediate care (IMC), and stepdown nursing.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage patients with cardiac conditions, including Congestive Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, and post-operative care for Pacemaker/ICD implantations.
- Administer cardiac drips such as Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, and Diltiazem.
- Perform sheath pulls, TR Band applications, and Femstop procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide optimal patient care in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Float between units as needed, depending on patient care requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, IMC, or a related specialty.
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Shift Details
Shift: 12 hours from 18:45 to 07:15. Contracts available for either 36 or 48 hours per week, with options for longer-term assignments ranging from 13 to 26 weeks. Weekend shifts required—5 to 6 shifts over a 6-week scheduling period. Patient-to-nurse ratio is approximately 1:5-6.
Special Notes
- All contract staff will be expected to participate in a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team, and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events or mass casualties.
- Orientation for the selected unit is expected to last for 24 hours.
- MUST pass EKG testing prior to the start of the contract.
- Local candidates are accepted at a local rate.
