Contract | 13–16 Weeks | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend required | No call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups on a 32-bed Cardiac Stepdown unit (patient ratio 1:3–1:4)
• Care for patients including post-op CABG/Valve, Thoracotomies, Respiratory Failure, and Chest Pain presentations
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAPs
• Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with applicable standards and the Missouri Nurse Practice Act
• Float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) — required
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) — required
• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Stepdown experience (inpatient only)
• Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required for assignments running November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Must be available the full first week for day-shift orientation regardless of assigned shift

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification preferred
• 2+ years of Stepdown/IMC/PCU experience
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
• Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative team player and contribute to a positive unit culture
