Work Schedule:

90%, day/evening shifts with a 2 in 6 weekend schedule and holiday rotation. You will work at the University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Pay:

  • Additional components of compensation include impressive shift differentials - $4/hour evening and $4.25/hour weekend differential as applicable for hours worked

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate care or higher Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team in a state-of-the-art 16-bed Hospitalist IMC that will care for patients on C2/6. This unit specializes in providing comprehensive, high-acuity nursing care to adults presenting with a wide variety of medical diagnoses, complex comorbidities or hemodynamic instability requiring increased support.  Working closely with the nurse manager, this is a unique opportunity for a Care Team Leader to be part of creating and shaping a new space.

  • Join UW Health’s first fully dedicated Intermediate Care (IMC) unit as a front-line leader surrounded by state-of-the-art technology and a strong interdisciplinary team.
  • Optimize patient and staff outcomes through strategic resource allocation and care assignments.
  • Drive team excellence by mentoring nurses, leading quality improvement initiatives, and tracking clinical metrics.
  • Partner with management on unit hiring, patient experience rounding, and operational strategy.
  • Resolve complex clinical and operational challenges by collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 2 years experience in an inpatient unit Required
  • 2 years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient unit Required
  • 3 years experience in an acute care inpatient unit Preferred
  • Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population Preferred

 

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
  • Current CPR/BLS certification Required
  • ACLS within 6 months Required
  • National certification in relevant specialty Preferred
