Travel Nursing Job Details

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• At least 3 years of current or recent Telemetry and/or Stepdown nursing experience
• Strong ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and read telemetry; telemetry competency will be evaluated during orientation
• Current Epic electronic medical record proficiency; independent Epic experience is required
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
• Adaptability and willingness to float among multiple medical-surgical specialties as needed

Med/Surg Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical and respiratory patients
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate clinical concerns to the interdisciplinary care team
• Interpret telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to cardiac changes
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, policies, and professional standards
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, maintain accurate documentation, and update individualized plans of care
• Provide patient and family education related to diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning
• Float to other medical-surgical areas, including wound care, stroke, oncology, cardiac, observation, and emergency department/medical-surgical overflow units, when needed
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, ancillary staff, and other members of the care team to support positive patient outcomes
