Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to an adult and geriatric patient population on a Renal Medical-Surgical unit with a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform vital sign checks and blood glucose checks independently as part of standard patient care duties
• Accurately document patient information and clinical communications using Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR
• Work every other weekend as part of the standard rotation
• Float within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
• Adhere to holiday work expectations: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the nurse is expected to work them; if three fall within the assignment period, two are expected to be worked

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience; first-time travelers accepted — charge experience preferred
• Proficiency with Epic is required; experience with Pyxis and SBAR communication preferred
• All requested time off (maximum 7 days per contract) must be finalized at time of submission — no schedule changes or RTO requests accepted post-offer or after start
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior charge nurse experience on a Medical-Surgical or Renal unit
• Familiarity with renal patient populations and related care protocols
• Experience working in a high-census environment (unit averages 48 patients across 49 rooms)
