PCU RN

1. Position Details

• Facility: Gulf Coast Medical Center (GCMC)
• Unit: MPCU – 4E/4W
• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week (12 × 3)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start: November
• EMR: Epic
• Scrub Color: Galaxy Blue or White

2. Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience is required.
• Must be comfortable floating to other units and campuses.
• Must be helpful, engaged, and able to work collaboratively with patients and staff.
• Degree accreditation must be documented on the candidate's profile, or the candidate must have 5 years of experience.

3. Required Certifications

All of the following are required:

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS – National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale

4. Unit Details

• Unit: MPCU 4E/4W
• Beds: 46
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5–6 patients per nurse
• Patient population: PCU/progressive care patients; specific diagnoses are not listed.

5. Floating Requirements

Floating is mandatory.

The candidate may need to float to:

• Other units within the facility
• PCU units
• ED Hold
• Other sister campuses

Travelers are the first to float.

Confirm the candidate is comfortable floating as required before submission.

6. Radius Rule

• 50-mile radius rule applies, measured from the GCMC permanent address.
• Confirm the candidate's distance from the facility's permanent address before submitting.

7. Submission Requirements

• RN license number

Other requirements:

• All requested time off (RTO) must be included at submission.
• RTO will not be approved after submission.
