Registered Nurse - Step Down (RN)
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Step Down Unit. The unit features 6-20 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4. As a registered nurse in this setting, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with a variety of complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medication and provide direct patient care in a step-down environment.
- Monitor patients with conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families.
- Possibly float to all Intermediate Care Units (IMCU), mainly 5J and 12A.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant setting.
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
