Job Description
Our client, a leading healthcare provider, is looking for an RN - Stepdown to start right away in New Haven, CT. Join a dedicated team at a Short Term Acute Care Level I Trauma Center with 1,567 staffed beds.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in the Stepdown unit.
- Administer medications, including anti-seizure medications and insulin, and manage BiPAP/CPAP systems.
- Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures and manage central lines and chest tubes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records using the Epic charting system.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with travel experience.
- Current certifications in BLS and PALS are required.
- Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and management of respiratory illnesses.
