PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
• Progressive Care Unit or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Basic EKG experience preferred
• Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to acutely ill, moderately stable patients at elevated risk for clinical deterioration
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and recognize changes in patient condition
• Use advanced patient monitoring and nursing interventions appropriate to the Progressive Care Unit setting
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other relevant clinical indicators
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and recovery
• Document patient care clearly and maintain compliance with clinical standards
