Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience in a Level I Trauma Center.
- Previous ICU/Critical Care experience is mandatory.
- Strong high-acuity inpatient PACU experience.
- Level I Trauma experience required. Candidates with Level II Trauma experience may be screened for manager review.
- Experience with both Phase I PACU and Pre/Post-operative care.
- Epic charting experience required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Previous travel experience is not mandatory.
- First-time travelers are accepted if they meet the clinical requirements.
Mandatory Clinical Skills & Experience
Candidates must have hands-on experience with:
- Recovery from general anesthesia.
- Post-cardiac surgery recovery.
- Lobectomy recovery.
- Chest trauma management.
- Exploratory laparotomy (Ex-Lap) and splenectomy recovery.
- Trauma patient recovery.
- Drain management.
- Vasoactive drips and IV vasopressors.
- Mechanical ventilation and ventilated patient management.
- Invasive monitoring, including ICP monitoring.
- Central line care and management.
- Blood product administration and transfusions.
- Dysrhythmia recognition and management.
- Cardiac monitoring.
- Preoperative assessment and patient education.
- Starting and maintaining IVs.
- Obtaining and interpreting 12-lead EKGs.
