Job Summary
The facility is seeking a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse for a position located at the healthcare provider. The role involves caring for patients following a variety of surgical procedures, with a focus on high acuity and high volume care in a dynamic PACU environment. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to patient recovery during critical post-operative phases.
Job Details
- Position Description: PACU RN needed for start dates of 10/26 or 11/09. Rotation schedule varies, including start times at 0700, 0800, 0900, 1000, 1100, and 1900. The role involves managing patients who have undergone diverse surgical procedures such as vascular (carotids/AAA repairs), general, thoracic (esophagectomy), gynecology, neuro (craniotomy for tumor/neurostimulators), orthopedic, kidney transplants, and whipples.
- Ventricular/ICP Monitoring: Yes to ventricular drains, no to ICP monitoring in PACUpatients go directly to ICU if ICP monitoring is needed.
- Must be familiar with arterial lines, central lines, vasoactive and sedative drips, chest tubes, and trachs.
- The environment is high acuity and high volume, with controlled chaos, especially during evening shifts.
- PACU overnight boarders typically include ICU craniotomies, step-down, or med surg patients.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, 2 years of recent PACU experience, minimum of 0 years of experience, and current BLS certification.
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Prefer previous ICU and/or high acuity PACU experience.
