Monday-Friday 830a-5pm with varied day off every other week; weeknight, weekend, holiday call rotation

Unit OR - Surgery - General (Major) - RN # Suites 5 Average # of cases per day 20-25 Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS/ACLS (PALS would be ideal but not required) Common Cases General surgery, GYN surgery, Urology Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Podiatry Surgery - colon resections, basic lap gen surgery cases, hysterectomy and other lap GYN cases, basic urology and nephrectomy/prostatectomy, PCNL, total knee replacement, total hip replacement, shoulder replacement, knee scopes, shoulder scopes, and basic podiatry cases Experience or 'Must have' skills orthopedic surgery preferred; overall minimum 2 years in OR Scrubbing required - RN's preferred; but will take 1 traveler with the skill and 1 without Is there a Charge Nurse &/or House Supervisor on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes charge nurse and sometimes they take an assignment depending on staffing. There is a supervisor who covers the department OR techs? yes we have EMR Epic OpTime Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) No Weeknight/Call Requirements Yes, once in 6 weeks Weekend/Call Requirements Yes, once in 6 weeks Holiday/Call Requirements Yes What is call response time? 45 minutes Floating Requirements Yes to Ottawa at times Scrub Color/Dress Code required to wear hospital provided scrubs Unit/Department specific orientation on site morning of first shift
