Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | Monday–Friday rotating start times (6:30 AM, 7:30 AM, 9:00 AM, or 10:00 AM — may vary based on surgery schedule) | Weekends: on-call only | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care and recovery room nursing within a 10-bed PACU unit
- Maintain a 2:1 patient ratio in accordance with unit standards
- Operate and monitor equipment including defibrillators, ultrasound for blocks, and Philips monitors
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
- Participate in on-call rotation: Monday–Friday 7:00 PM–7:00 AM and Saturday or Sunday 7:00 AM–7:00 AM (approximately 5–6 call shifts per month)
- Collaborate as a flexible team player, adapting to a schedule driven by the surgical caseload
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in Indiana (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse; 5+ years preferred
- PACU / Recovery Room experience required
- Current certifications as required per facility onboarding standards (e.g., BLS, ACLS — refer to onboarding checklist)
- Ability to fulfill on-call obligations as outlined in the schedule
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for all age groups, including pediatric patients
- Familiarity with ultrasound-guided nerve block monitoring
- Flexible, team-oriented personality well-suited to a surgery-driven environment
