Job Summary
Operating Room specialty Location not specified. The position supports general operating room and cardiovascular operating room procedures in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include providing perioperative support for orthopedic, neurological, urological, robotic, and cardiac cases while participating in call coverage and required orientation.
Job Details
- Schedule: 10-hour day shifts, generally scheduled from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. Every other weekend and two on-call shifts per month are expected.
- Required Qualifications: At least 2 years of operating room experience; Registered Nurse applicants for cardiovascular operating room assignments must have at least 5 years of general operating room experience plus 2 years of cardiovascular operating room experience. Active license required for submission. Required certifications include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; cardiovascular operating room, robotic surgery, and cesarean section experience; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification or experience.
- Additional Information:
- Experience with general orthopedic, neurological, urological, robotic, and cardiovascular procedures is expected for applicable assignments.
- Registered Nurses are not required to scrub.
- Call coverage rotates with core staff. Weekday call is scheduled from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM, with 24 hours of weekend call per month. A 30- to 60-minute call response time is required.
- Department-provided scrubs are required while working, with business casual or navy scrubs worn when arriving and departing.
- Orientation generally lasts 3 to 7 days for Registered Nurses and up to 3 days for surgical technologists.
- The assignment is scheduled from 12/07/2026 through 03/08/2027.
