Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
A telemetry nurse is a specialized registered nurse who continuously monitors patients' vital signs and heart rhythms utilizing automated equipment such as EKGs. This role primarily involves caring for acutely ill patients who may have stepped down from intensive care and require close observation due to heart disease or other serious medical conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to patients on telemetry monitoring.
- Accurately interpret electrocardiograms and assess cardiac rhythms.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions and post-hospital care.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition appropriately.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in telemetry nursing.
- Current NIH Stroke Training certification.
- Preferred certifications include NIHSS and ACLS.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Michigan at the time of application.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Work Schedule:
This position requires working 12-hour night shifts with a guarantee of 36 hours per week. Additionally, the nurse will be required to work every other weekend.
No on-call requirements are associated with this position.
