Job Summary:
Operating Room Pediatrics (OR PEDS) in a Children's Acute Care Hospital. This role involves providing specialized surgical care for pediatric patients in a fast-paced environment. The position requires a focus on various surgical procedures within the pediatric OR and contributing to patient safety and operative efficiency.

Job Details:

• Certifications: BLS, PALS
• Education Requirements: Relevant nursing certification or License in the state of practice
• Years of Experience: 2 years minimum required, with at least 2 years of pediatric operating room experience preferred
• Location Requirements: Candidates must be within a 75-mile radius of the facility; local travelers restricted to Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, and Medical Assistants
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Additional Qualifications: Experience with administration of blood and blood products, general OR procedures, infection control practices, pediatric cardiovascular OR, pediatric general OR, and scrub procedures for thoracic surgery and trauma. Must be able to work within scope to meet facility needs and float to all pediatric Medical Service units; may float to ICU as RN.
• Special Requirements: Neuro, Ortho, Plastics, Eyes, GU/GI, ENT, GYN, spine, some dental procedures. No cardiac/vascular/thoracic experience required for this role.
• Facility & Patient Care Details:
  • Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Pediatrics
  • Daily Census: Approximately 50 patients
  • Number of Beds in unit: 16 beds, total hospital staff of 455
  • Interdisciplinary Support: Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary
  • Patient Diagnoses: Focused on surgical services across multiple specialties
• Licensing: MO: Submission without license accepted; requires MO or compact license. IL: License in hand required at time of submittal.
• RTO Restrictions: Max of 7 days; requires manager approval for longer.
• Certification: ACLS required; must be obtained by submission deadline for certain locations.
• Uniform: Any scrubs or St. Louis Childrens Hospital T-shirts/jackets.
• Charting System: EPIC
• Parking: daily garage rates apply
• Contract Duration: September 21, 2026, to December 21, 2026
• Additional Notes: Travelers will float within the service line; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment; compliance deadlines apply.
