Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse with experience in MedSurg, LTAC, or ICU settings. The ideal candidate will possess a valid MA nursing license and be adept in various nursing practices, including IV therapy, patient assessments, and medication administration.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: Up to 1:10, typically lower

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments for the start of care.
• Administer medications orally and via G-tubes and nasogastric tubes.
• Perform IV medication administration and manage IV placements.
• Document patient information electronically using MATRIX EMR (training provided).
• Provide care and maintenance for G-tubes and J-tubes, including flushing and dressing changes.
• Skilled in phlebotomy and care of central lines (PICC lines and ports).
• Conduct basic wound care, dressing changes, and drain management.
• Perform catheter care, including Foley catheter insertion and maintenance.
• Administer blood transfusions and TPN as needed.
• Monitor telemetry patients with basic rhythm analysis.
• Provide tracheostomy care and suctioning, as well as ventilator management (excluding setting adjustments).
• Manage ostomy care, including the application of new bags.

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts nursing license (must be in hand for acceptance).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in MedSurg, LTAC, or ICU required.
• IV certification preferred; candidates must be ready to perform IV procedures.
• Strong basic computer skills for electronic documentation.
