Job Description

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will have recent cardiac step-down, PCU, or telemetry experience and be comfortable caring for patients requiring close monitoring and specialized cardiac nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac drips as ordered.
• Provide post-cardiac catheterization and PCI recovery care.
• Manage femoral sheaths, when qualified and required.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families on treatment and discharge plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow patient safety standards.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license for the applicable state.
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• No minimum experience specified; recent PCU, cardiac step-down, or telemetry experience is strongly preferred.
• The unit prefers candidates with approximately 5 years of relevant experience.
• Cardiac drip titration, post-cath/PCI recovery, and femoral sheath management experience preferred.
• GI oncology post-operative or chemotherapy experience is a strong plus.

Additional Details

• Weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be comfortable working night shifts in a high-acuity cardiac care setting.

Note: Submit candidates with strong recent PCU/cardiac step-down or telemetry experience. The facility particularly values cardiac drip titration and post-cath/PCI recovery skills.
