Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in Stepdown care to join our team. This position will require floating between various units, including medical floors, stepdown/ICU, and surgical/oncology. Strong clinical skills and the ability to adapt to different environments are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in stepdown and surgical oncology settings.
- Float between medical floors, stepdown units, and surgical/oncology as needed.
- Monitor patient conditions and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, specifically Epic.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Stepdown unit is required; ICU experience is preferred.
- Prior travel nursing experience is required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patient Care Expectations
The Registered Nurse will primarily care for stepdown patients, with the expectation to manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 6. The role may involve caring for patients requiring a lower intensity level of care compared to traditional ICU settings.

Floating among units is a key component of this role. All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application and cannot be approved post-submission.
