Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent stepdown or Progressive Care Unit experience in an acute care setting
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for submission
• Current BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Comfort working with cardiac and cardiothoracic patient populations
• Must be flexible with holidays and holiday scheduling needs
• Must be willing to float as needed within scope
• Professional appearance and adherence to unit dress code standards

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a cardiac Progressive Care / Stepdown unit
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as CABG, CHF, atrial fibrillation with RVR, vascular procedures, thoracotomy, TAVS, EVARs, AAA repairs, stents, pacemakers, and more
• Administer and titrate cardiac-related drips as ordered
• Assess telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Care for patients requiring non-invasive respiratory support such as BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, and high-flow oxygen
• Collaborate closely with the care team to support efficient admissions, discharges, and rapid patient turnover
• Provide safe, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on teamwork, attendance, and patient safety
• Assist with procedures and unit tasks as needed, including support with chest tubes and pacing wire management when trained
